The holidays are over…

January 10, 2008

And I get a little sad about it – but the “new year” always brings promise of new and exciting things to come.  I don’t make resolutions, but I do usually get inspired to make some changes.  Last year, I wanted to get my business started and I was really going to do it this time instead of just thinking about it.  Check!  So I did that, which is a huge accomplishment in itself, because I usually don’t finish what I start.  I can’t even begin to tell you how many “projects in progress” there are all over my house!  But it is what it is, those unfinished things are there, patiently waiting for me to pay them a visit every now and again.

This whole “starting your own business” is truly an intense experience.  It is fraught with headaches, backaches, a toothache that is newly developed (though I don’t think the biz had anything to do with that), tears, digging for spare change in every corner to support that nasty Diet Coke habit…on the flip though,  I am having a lot of fun finding unique items to offer, and it makes me incredibly happy to have repeat customers, that is the best compliment!

SO, this year I am inspired to change my thinking.  I am going to stop worrying so much - I am noticing more and more forehead wrinkles and that is just unacceptable!  I am doing exactly what I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember,  I am grateful for the opportunity, and I will just have to have faith that I can do this experience justice!   Wrinkles are inevitable I know, but I’d prefer mine to come from excessive smiling and sun exposure – I know I know, the sun is bad for you - I do wear sunscreen but I am not giving up the beach, not now, not ever, I would give up Diet Coke first!  (And that ain’t happening!)

My wish for you is that you have faith in whatever you have become inspired to accomplish this year!
